Tyler McGeeMy name is Tyler, and I've been writing poetry since I was all angsty, single, and teenaged. I'm from the good old US of A orginally, but grew up in what was then called Zaire, now the Democratic Republic of the Congo. My parents were missionairies, and after a change of job we moved to England. Since then have done my loving and living here. For me, poetry is a release, an outpouring of myself into words. I like to mess with language and format, but have a distinct love for a good cliche.

I write mostly freeverse poetry, with the occasional rhyme, but I find that freeverse allows me the space I need to work. Recently I have been thinking alot about intergrating poetry with more visual mediums, like VJing, and have been working (a bit :p ) to try and make that happen! I am passionate about religion, mysticism, science... well, just worldviews in general, and I write with that in mind. I'm not out to shake the world, but if I can spread a bit of love and make someone stop and think for a second then I've done more than enough to make me happy.

I thought spaceline
that you wrote
something beautiful,

Something wonderful,
about what makes you smile

and It made me smile
just thinking about you
watching that storm
on a swing
on a porch
in your dressing gown,
smiling.

*************KISS**************
funny .
really it is quite
funny ,
but I smile as if
you were she

and eeverythingg was

unbearably light.

I thought,

(
but Ego is worse.
):
hold on to nothing. Remember, Eternity Glistens
with the tears of the saints, for you
will not be still .

Open your head wide with surprise, spaceline
feel the gooey dripple of drug happiness
ooze down your back
and know that this is nothing when
juxtaposed with the blissful taint of
justliving.

spaceline the perfect number was three,
because of all those trees
and things.

until we figured that
we could multiply three by
four,

    (which is one more
          than three
        and trees
      and things
and reminded me of steeples,
and her of whirlpools)

to get twelve,
which was like three,
but even.

(later, when I heard
that some dirty baker
called 13 a dozen
we made faces
because some things are just wrong)

we thought a lot about numbers then.
